Renault Visteon R013 radio security emulator

Product Information

Simple CAN simulator board designed for Renault Visteon car radio retrofit.

Works with:

Renault Visteon R013 1DIN, R013 2DIN, R013 - X07 used in Renault, Opel cars up to year 2019 (orange and blue display);

!!! Not works with R013 PH2 !!!

When a Renault Visteon R013 radio needs a CAN emulator (because it has been moved to another vehicle or is being powered on a test bench), the display goes through two distinct message phases:

1. The Initial Check (Stuck Screen)

When you first apply power to the radio, the screen will briefly display:

Authentication in progress…

During these few seconds, the radio is sending out a request across the CAN-bus data lines, searching for the vehicle’s original immobilizer ID.

2. The Final Lockout (Needs Emulator)

If the radio does not receive any CAN-bus data at all (like on a workbench), or if it receives a response from a different car that doesn't match its internal memory, it locks itself. The screen will change permanently to:

Radio Locked. Please Contact Dealer

What happens when you use an emulator?

The radio will still show Authentication in progress… for about 2 to 5 seconds upon boot.
The emulator will automatically feed the correct security validation signals into the radio.
The lock screen is bypassed completely, and the radio normalizes to its standard main menu (clock, radio frequencies, or Bluetooth pairing screen)
