Post the error message and at least the scan for the instrument cluster. I did the same model and the cluster part number is 8E0 920 901 E with version KOMBI+WFS 4
Address 17: Instruments
Part No SW: 8E0 920 901 E HW: 8E0 920 901 E
Component: KOMBI+WFS 4 H12 0110
Revision: 0110 Serial number: 00000000000000
Coding: 0023361
Shop #: WSC 93030 999 79353

My version was a success. Make sure you complete your updates for the CarProg, that includes the system board update. If you have CAN Bus faults in the system, repair them first.
A clean DC power supply needs to be attached to the battery before any diagnostics are performed.

Your version is the newest and I have tried that same model year on an older version with success.

Most other models are tested on the bench but the image posted is through the DLC. Make sure other functions are correct with the CarProg. Try to connect with another device like a cluster or airbag controller to test. Make sure there are no other devices installed in the A4 that doesn't belong such as an aftermarket radio. If the CarProg works and still can't communicate, remove the cluster in question and bench test. If that fails, contact support. They may have another solution.
